Dennis Royal – Junior Development Chairperson

Renowned collegiate coach, club pro and MCTC Junior Development alumnus has accepted appointment to chair the Junior Development Program.

Dennis has been teaching tennis for over 35 years. He is a USPTA P1 certified professional and coached WTA players Meredith McGrath (who reached #18 in the world) and Megan Moulton-Levy! Currently, Dennis is the assistant tennis coach at Wayne State University. Dennis brings out the competitive player inside his students, focusing on stroke production and strategy, while teaching them to extend points and developing their game further.

He played collegiately for two years at the University of Cincinnati before helping Wayne State to the 1981 GLIAC Championship. Royal played three years on the satellite circuit before becoming the Junior Tennis Director at the Midland Community Tennis Center, a position he held for over nine years

Royal, a member of the USPTA since 1986, also spent nearly five years in Switzerland coaching Megan Moulton-Levy. Upon returning to the United States, he worked at the Sports Club of West Bloomfield where he taught junior and adult classes.
